Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD. Jesus said: For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the “Religious types”, you yourself will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven...  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ (and)  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.
