“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality.”
Archbishop Desmond Tutu

There are atrocities of evil without restraint that are hard for us to even imagine.

  • Wars in which children are tortured and forced to become child soldiers.
  • In 100 days, more than a million people were killed in the Rwandan genocide, as incited by officials, neighbors hacked one another to death with machetes.
  • In India, women are raped and then publicly flogged by their families and their village leaders.
  • In Pakistan, men throw acid in a woman’s face when she refuses their marriage proposal.
  • Little girls’ genitals are routinely mutilated, in order to assure that they remain chaste. These are just a few of the injustices that people around the world are experiencing. Most vulnerable are the women and children, who often have the least ability to stand for their own rights.

Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; Protect the rights of the oppressed and the poor. Rescue the weak and the needy; Help them escape the power of wicked people. Psalms 82:3,4
